2016

Kitsch Spectrum installation for Mowilex Style&Decor Commercial Design Award 2016. Kitsch Spectrum is a study of understanding an ironic way of making a playful, uncommon, and quirky design through its own unique color. By using Mowilex “Wall of Fame” colors, we objectify Kitsch Spectrum concept into colorful diamond-shaped pedestals. This concept features 17 diamond-shaped pedestals in various height that can be rearranged to create a transformable modern living space. To add the playful mood, we painted each pedestal in two-toned colors. Creating an even more unique color combination when few pedestals are arranged overlapping each other. By combining pops of primary colors, this installation visualize a bold statement about color spectrum: …rainbow of colors in visible light when separated using a prism.
